Words from Fredrik

About six years ago when I got out of university, I took a sharp turn and steered straight towards art. Didn’t really have a map or a compass, but maybe more importantly a strong sense of purpose and aspiration. I was in the beginning of my artistic journey figuring out what art was for me, and what path I would take, when I got health issues. But rather than putting me off, it made me realise even more that I should go for it.

 I don't want to regret not trying and I’m so happy that I spent the following years focusing on developing my artistic side. Within a few years of painting and getting my illness under control I started showing my art and was met with promising reactions. I am at the point now where I feel I have gotten the ball to roll so to speak, and it feels great.

Until now my subjects have mainly been animals, figurative and portrait art and I have painted in a way that has allowed me to explore my personal visual language. Forward I am going to continue my current studio practise as well as pushing myself to become better at the craft. It is an endless pursuit that I love. I’m always chasing, one painting at a time.
